Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island known as West Island. People unfamiliar with the term often think that there is a separate island to the west of Montreal however, it's a part of the city that's west. West Island is home to everything from the Lachine city. Lachine west. Amanda Brugel grew up on the island and is commonly called her birthplace. But she only resided there for a very short time. Brugel was raised in Courtice close to Oshawa. In her early years she hoped to become professional performer, however an unexpected growth spurt made it impossible. In an article from the Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. When I grew out of male companions, that's when I gave up. Brugel was one of many former dancers that turned to acting. Her high school teacher school encouraged her to take the next step. Teacher who recommended she try to get a role for school's annual production. The teacher who suggested she go after a role in the school's annual production. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Her career spans twenty years, and she's appeared in 60 different productions, both on big screens and smaller ones. Her most notable role was the one of Rita (pictured beneath) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel, the only Canadian in the season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast and seen only occasionally, was the sole Canadian.
